Part of SoftRAID. Allow you to configure of two or more disk drives that are accessed by a host computer as a single disk drive. A disk array can increase reliability, performance, or both. SoftRAID supports any combination of striping and mirroring (RAID 0 and RAID 1). If you are creating mirrored volumes, the SoftRAID Monitor extension should be placed in the extensions folder of your start-up drive. It alerts you when a drive in a mirrored volume fails by flashing the Apple/Mac OS icon with a SoftRAID icon. The SoftRAID Monitor periodically checks the status of mirrored volumes. If there is a change in status, it informs you immediately.
